Samurai Steakhouse one step closer to opening its Farmington location
Farmington City Council voted to approve a resolution recommending a Redevelopment Liquor License for Samurai Steakhouse at Monday night’s council meeting. The restaurant is currently being developed in the building located at 32821 Grand River Avenue, which was formerly The Grand Bakery. It is projected to open in October 2018 and will feature a hibachi grill experience, sushi bar, and craft cocktails.
Samurai Steakhouse Farmington is the second location for business owner Xie Zheng, who owns a successful Samurai Steakhouse in West Bloomfield. Zheng purchased the former Grand Bakery building and adjacent property with plans to redevelop the entire site. The site plan features complete interior renovation of the first floor restaurant space and second floor residential units, an exterior façade improvement, and parking lot reconstruction.
The Farmington Downtown Development Authority is looking forward to the redevelopment of the adjacent property, which includes plans for a second building, a courtyard, extended parking area, and additional first floor commercial space and second floor residential units. Along with Samurai Steakhouse, downtown Farmington will be welcoming Sidecar Slider Bar into the former Bellacino’s building located across the street at 32720 Grand River Avenue.
