Armed Robbery - Farmington Radio Shack

The Farmington Public Safety Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Radio Shack store located at 32436 Grand River Avenue. The incident occurred on Wednesday, February 20th at approximately 8:20 PM.
A lone gunman entered the business and ordered the two employees to stay in the back of the store. The suspect then stole numerous cell phones from the stock room. One of the employees emerged from the back room and observed the suspect enter the front passenger seat of a newer, dark blue or black “shiny metallic” vehicle, possibly a Honda, which was parked in front of the business. The vehicle fled eastbound on Grand River Avenue. Neither employee was injured.
The suspect is described as a light skinned African-American male, 5’9” to 6’2”, approximately 150lbs and approximately 28 years old. The suspect was unshaven and wearing dark pants, a powder blue shirt with white vertical stripes, light tinted eyeglasses and black gloves with holes over the knuckles. The suspect’s hair was described as a short afro-style. A composite sketch of the suspect is attached to this press release.
Farmington Public Safety Commander Frank Demers said, “We are grateful that no employees were injured during this incident, which is the department’s first armed robbery in 14 months”. Farmington Public Safety investigators are working with area departments to develop suspect information in this case.
