City of Farmington seeks members for two of its boards
Farmington, MI (December 18, 2019) — The City of Farmington is looking to fill vacancies on its Downtown Development Authority and Board of Review.
The Farmington Downtown Development Authority meets the first Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. in Farmington City Hall. Its purpose is to support business development, to encourage historic preservation, to authorize the creation and implementation of development plans, to promote economic growth, and to utilize tax increment financing within the district as authorized by statute. DDA Board members serve a 4-year term. The vacant term would expire on Feb. 28, 2024. This vacancy is for a downtown business representative.
Farmington Board of Review meets periodically throughout the year. The primary function of the Board is to review the assessment roll prepared by the Assessor, to hear appeals from property owners regarding their assessments, to consider poverty exemptions, and to make corrections regarding names and homestead exemptions. This is a 3-year term ending Dec. 31, 2022.
