Mayor's Welcome
The City of Farmington has been a welcoming and thriving community for two centuries. Starting with the grit and resourcefulness of the founding pioneers, a full 13 years before Michigan even became a state, our city has grown to become a model for other communities that aspire to live at the intersection of history and the future.
I, along with my fellow City Council members, welcome you to our town and encourage you to experience the “Farmington Way”. You’ll feel it while you visit our vibrant Downtown, our historic locales like the Civic Theater and Governor Warner Mansion, and our beautiful parks. You’ll see it in our neighborhoods, restaurants, and businesses. You’ll enjoy it at our events and celebrations like our annual festivals, parades, and award-winning Farmers Market.
Farmington is a peerless city with solid leadership and a committed citizenry that constantly shows their love for this community through service. We’re blessed to have so many volunteers that make every day in our town special. The city’s authenticity is unmatched and I’m so proud of all we’ve accomplished. We’ve found a knack for honoring our past while moving Farmington forward, making it a desirable community for folks from all walks of life.
Our community is a truly amazing place to live, work, and play. Explore the city and this website to learn more about us and the “Farmington Way”. I’m confident you’ll find everything you’re looking for in Farmington, and I look forward to seeing you around town!
Sincerely,
Joe LaRussa
Mayor
