Candidate sought for Farmington Community Library Board vacancy
The Farmington Community Library Board of Directors has a vacancy for a City of Farmington representative. The term of office is four years. Interested City residents can apply at farmgov.com>Government>City Services>Boards and Commissions, or click here. Applications should be returned to the City Manager’s office, or to mandrade@farmgov.com by Thursday, Nov. 21; candidate interviews are tentatively scheduled for 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2
The Library Board meets on the second Thursday of each month, 7 p.m. at the Main Library in the Ernest E. Sauter Board Room. Its goals are to establish, maintain and operate a public library for the district; to appoint and remove a librarian and necessary assistants and to fix their compensation; to supervise and control library property; to adopt bylaws and regulations; to establish a district library fund, over which it shall have exclusive control; and to do any other task necessary to conduct district library service.
Volunteering to serve on one of the City’s Boards and Commission is a great way to support your community and help Farmington grow its vibrancy. It is also an ideal means to meet other community-minded people.
