City of Farmington announces vacancies on the Pathways and Emergency Preparedness Committees
The City of Farmington is seeking a dedicated resident to fill vacancies on the Farmington Pathways Committee and the Farmington Hills/Farmington Emergency Preparedness Commission (EPC).
The Pathways Committee studies, evaluates, and makes recommendations to the City, with regard to improving or creating new pathways in the community and their connections to surrounding area, county, and regional systems. The committee is currently reviewing potential Grand River pedestrian crossings; they are participating in a 9 Mile Task Force to plan and begin implementation of 9 Mile multi-use pathway between I-275 and I-75; and they advocate for improvements to sidewalks and bike lanes throughout city. The Pathways Committee holds monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m.
The Emergency Preparedness Committee’s mission is to support and enhance the efforts of local safety organizations by providing information, education, and training to protect families, homes, and businesses in our community. The commission works collaboratively with emergency services, local officials, and community members to promote readiness and resilience. This is an opportunity to contribute to community safety and preparedness by helping educate residents and business owners regarding resources and skills necessary to respond effectively in the event of an emergency.
