Estate sale planned at Governor Warner Mansion

An estate sale will be held at the historic Governor Warner Mansion on Friday, Feb. 6, and Saturday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days and is open to the public. The Mansion is located at 33805 Grand River Ave in Farmington. The sale is part of the City of Farmington’s plan for much-needed repairs to the Mansion, ensuring its long-term preservation.

The city is planning to sell select items currently housed in the mansion as the building undergoes construction to repair the historic structure. A listing of items included in the estate sale can be found here: https://www.estatesales.net/MI/Farmington/48335/4794042

“As one of the City’s most treasured assets, our focus is on protecting the integrity of the Governor Warner Mansion,” said Farmington City Manager David Murphy. “These repairs are necessary to ensure the building remains safe, stable, and accessible for generations to come. We have prioritized some of the most critical needs and plan to address them this year.”

Murphy emphasized that the planned work is rooted in preservation. “These renovations are about caring for the mansion—not altering its character,” he said. “As part of this process, we must temporarily clear portions of the building to prepare for construction.”

The City of Farmington recognizes how deeply the community values the Governor Warner Mansion and appreciates the dedication of residents, volunteers, and supporters who have helped preserve its history over the years. The city remains committed to transparency and community involvement as this important work moves forward.
