The Farmington Hills Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance to identify suspects who are responsible for scattering virulent antisemitic material.

On October 5, 2024, the Farmington Hills Police Department responded to the area of 14 Mile and Farmington, regarding several residents who found plastic bags containing virulent antisemitic material strewn on their front lawns. The neighbors opened the bags to find that they contained an antisemitic flier that had been thrown onto their front lawns and driveways overnight. 

“The timing of this detestable activity exacerbates the chilling effect on our community,” said Farmington Hills Police Chief Jeff King. “This type of hateful activity will not be tolerated in Farmington Hills and our agency will use all available resources to prevent, investigate, and prosecute those responsible for this incident.”  

The Farmington Hills Police Department investigators and officers eventually recovered over 100 bags containing the antisemitic materials. The bags were found to be weighed down with various non-hazardous materials for ease in hurling on to the residential lawns and driveways.

Chief King noted that a team of Farmington Hills Detectives and Command Officers were immediately recalled supporting the investigation, which included a door-to-door canvass, evidence collection, and witness interviews. Chief King added that this is a very active investigation, with investigators coordinating with our State and Federal Law Enforcement partners, the Anti-Defamation League, and other jurisdictions who experienced matching incidents.
