Hillside Townes begins foundation on first building

Hillside Townes, a long-awaited residential development in the heart of downtown Farmington, has officially began building its first townhome. This milestone marks the transformation of the former Maxfield Training Center site, which had remained vacant for approximately 12 years, into a vibrant new community.

Located on a 3-acre parcel that had served as a school since at least 1880, the site was formerly owned by Farmington Public Schools and operated as a high school and junior high school before becoming the Maxfield Training Center. Now, in its next chapter, it will house Hillside Townes, a $16 million residential development consisting of seven three-story buildings featuring 53 townhomes. The new homes are listed in the mid-$300,000 range.
