Farmington Public Safety Annual Awards honors bravery and dedication
Public Safety personnel were recognized for their exceptional service and dedication during the Annual Farmington Public Safety Awards held last evening.
Public Safety Director Bob Houhanisin and Commander Shane Wash presented numerous officers with awards for their commitment to protecting and serving the community, as well as years of dedication. A highlight of the evening was the recognition of Public Safety Officer Mark Keeley, who was named Officer of the Year. His announcement was met with a standing ovation, reflecting the deep respect and appreciation from his colleagues.
Public Safety Assistant Allie Pruner was also recognized as Civilian of the Year for her outstanding contributions and support to the department.
The ceremony paid tribute to the collective bravery demonstrated during the Warner Street murder/suicide incident that occurred last year. All responding officers, along with one civilian, were formally recognized for their heroic efforts in the face of a tragic and challenging situation. Commander Patrick Spelman, Commander Cody Hawkins and Sergeant William Wood were each awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, one of the department’s highest honors, for their unwavering courage and leadership during the incident.
