Farmington to celebrate the Nation’s 250th Anniversary Celebration on July 4
Our local celebration will primarily take place during the regularly scheduled Farmington Farmers Market on Saturday, July 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Independence Day
Activities include:
- Crafting Betsy Ross Stars
- A fun local history map game featuring Farmington maps from 1893 and 1926 in which participants will have to guess what is currently on the sites pictured
- Story hour featuring factual information about local Revolutionary War Veterans Seth Warner, Arthur Power, Benjamin Grace and Levi Green
- Signing your own name on a giant copy of the Declaration
- And more patriotic activities for all ages

On Wednesday, July 8, the celebration will continue at the Farmington Civic Theater with a free, family-friendly movie and a community reading of the Declaration of Independence (6pm).

Neighboring Farmington Hills is planning its America’s 250th Anniversary for June 25, from 5 – 10 p.m. at Founders Sports Park, this will include family fun, food and fireworks.
