Olympic gold medalists Megan Keller and Kirsten Simms to be honored during free community celebration on August 201h. 

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -The community is invited to celebrate Michigan hockey excellence during the Megan Keller Day Celebration on Thursday, August 20, 2026, outside at The Athlete Lab, located at 23955 Freeway Park Drive in Farmington Hills.

The event will honor Olympic gold medalist and Michigan native Megan Keller for her accomplishments, leadership and lasting impact on the game of hockey. Fellow HoneyBaked Hockey alum and Olympic gold medalist Kirsten Simms will also be recognized during the celebration.

Check-in will open at 4 p.m., followed by a special presentation beginning at 5 p.m. Detroit sports journalist Brad Galli will serve as the event's master of ceremonies. The program will recognize both athletes and include remarks and special presentations from representatives of the cities of Farmington and Farmington Hills, followed by a question-and-answer session with Keller and Simms.

Hockey players attending the celebration are encouraged to wear their team apparel. 
The first 750 guests to check in will receive commemorative photos featuring the printed signatures of Megan Keller and Kirsten Simms. Please do not bring personal items to be autographed, as autograph opportunities will not be available during the event.

Each guest will also have the opportunity to have one quick photo taken with Keller and one quick photo taken with Simms. Photo moments will be brief to ensure that as many guests as possible can participate. 
Guests are asked not to take personal photos during the professional photo experience. An event photographer will take each photo, and images will be posted on the event webpage and emailed to guests who RSVP or check in. Photos are expected to be available within 72 hours.

TruPizza, The Burger Truck, and Kona Ice will serve food and treats throughout the celebration. Items will be available for purchase directly from each food truck from 4 to 8 p.m.
