The City Treasure directs the operations of the Treasury and serves as the Director of Finance and Administration. The Treasurer's Department is primarily responsible for the collection, investing, and disbursing of City funds and for accounting for the financial transactions of the City. Included in these responsibilities are:
- property tax collection
- utility billing
- special assessments
- billing
- accounts payable
- accounts receivable
- payroll
- data processing
- general accounting
In addition, the Treasurer's Department provides staff support for the City Manager in the area of finance, assisting with the preparation of the budget and financial reports, human resources, risk management, and IT coordination.
The Treasurer's Department performs treasury and finance functions for the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (BRA), the 47th District Court, and Corridor Improvement Authority (CIA).
